E-Excuse me...

[The voice speaking from the PokéGear is faint and hesitant, and the speaker's face perfectly demonstrates the nervousness laced within her voice. Her eyebrows are furrowed, and her eyes are quivering slightly; she honestly looks frightened out of her mind and a bit pale.]

I... I don't know who's listening, but for those who are, um...

[Juniper pauses, suddenly coughing into her fist, though the fit lasts for nothing more than a minute at the most. She reaches for the sunflower adorning her hat, breathing into it to calm herself down. When she's done, she looks rather sheepish about her recent spell, but it doesn't deter her from continuing to speak.]

My name is Juniper Woods. I just arrived here. I don't, ah, know where I am, or how I got here for that matter... I know that it's called New Bark Town, but...that doesn't really answer my question. I-If anyone could give me an explanation as to what is going on, then I... I would really appreciate it.

[The feed suddenly loses focus as Juniper kneels down, but it quickly returns, now settled on a small seed-like creature: a Sunkern. It looks relatively cheerful, beaming brightly at the camera. As Juniper speaks off-screen, she reaches out a hand to brush one of its leaves gently and almost distractedly. She's still confused as to what's going on, but she doesn't seem to be startled by the creature.]

I understand that...these creatures are known as Pokémon and that we're supposed to go on a journey of some sort with them, but... Um. Well, I-I don't know how to care for Pokémon. I've never...owned one before. This is all so strange...

[The last word of her sentence sounds choked, as if she's sobbing, but her expression doesn't seem to be tearful. Sunkern, concerned, seems to nudge Juniper's hand in an effort to calm her down. She flashes the Pokémon a grateful smile and returns to her feet, facing the camera towards her again.]

A-Ah, I... I'm sorry about that. But, um, like I said before, if...anyone could help me out, I'd really appreciate it. O-Oh! One last thing... I was wondering if any of you have seen or heard of my friends...? Their names are Athena Cykes, Apollo Justice, Robin Newman, Hugh O'Conner, and Phoenix Wright. If you've seen them, could you please let them know that I'm here? ...T-Thank you.

Well, she's not usually used to people with such a nervous disposition - no, seriously, what happened to you - but on the other hand, the idea of wandering around for three days by herself isn't the most appealing thing in the world, either.]

Oh, I'm from California, but I lived up in the mountains rather than the main city. Where are you from?

Oh, so you're American, then...

[She doesn't sound judgmental about it at least; just thinking.]

I'm from Japan, near Tokyo Bay! The place is called Honnouji Academy; we lived there. Sort of like boarding school, I guess.

["Sort of."]

It was nothing like this, though. We didn't have the weird animals, either.

...Japan? Oh my, it seems that this place can pull anyone from anywhere...

[As if that wasn't obvious from the start.]

I agree. Where I'm from, we didn't have these animals either...but they seem friendly enough.

[She just kind of glances behind her to punctuate that; Aria, where are you, are you still hiding behind her shoes -

...yes. Yes, that is exactly where Aria is because of course it is.]

They're pretty cute, I think - they look like living dolls, a bit, don't they? Like some sort of moving stuffed animal; they don't seem like they can be real.

[The "pretty cute" opinion will probably hold until she runs into something actually formidable, as opposed to, y'know. Whismurs and Sunkerns.]

Ah! I'm Jakuzure, by the way - we should probably get some actual supplies before we set off, if it's really three days away.

Heehee, they do seem that way.

[Juniper glances down at her Sunkern who...doesn't seem to be moving away from her side either, a soft smile crossing her lips.]

It's nice to meet you, Jakuzure; I'm Juniper. And that sounds like a good idea. After all, I don't think the supplies our 'Mother' gave us will last that long...

I don't think our money will last us that long, either, but if we pool it we should be able to get something good! Just worry about food for now, I guess, I think we have enough in our bags to be okay otherwise.

[Hmmm.]

Have you run into anyone else you know here? I heard you asking about people earlier - I guess you haven't seen anyone around town or anything?

[She still has her own lunch given to her from their 'Mother', but she knows that definitely wouldn't last for three days. Considering her constitution, too, it wouldn't be wise for her to try and go the journey without food either.]

And, well, someone told me that a friend of mine was here before, but he's no longer here. Other than that, I haven't seen anyone besides you. ...Is there anyone you know here?

Nope, it looks like it's just me! I haven't said anything on the network, but no one suddenly went missing weirdly either. So unless it was one of the students I don't pay attention to, I don't think there's anyone here from the school.

Well, someone told me earlier that there may be a chance people we know come here, too...? So, maybe someone from your school and one of my friends might show up soon.

[Or eventually, anyway.]

That'd either be really good or really bad for me, depending on who it is; if they're not annoying, they're usually pretty boring. And besides, some of us have important stuff going on.

But some of them would be okay. I'd like to see little Doggy's reaction to this place, for one thing.

Maybe we can stick together until your friends show up, though - it'll be better than being all alone, right?

["Little Doggy"...? Yeah, she has no idea who that is, so she's just going to move on.]

I'm a trainer! Aaaand...you're probably a breeder, right? You seem like the nurturing sort.

[She'd feel bad hurting her Pokémon in battles...]

So, if you need any of your Pokémon bred, then I'd be happy to do it. ...That is, once I understand how to do it properly.

You do! And not all of us are cut out for stuff like that, so nurturing is fine.

But I'll keep that in mind, once I have a few more! Right now I just have Aria-chan, and I don't know if we need a lot more Aria-chans running around.

[She hasn't even heard the thing scream yet. Once she does, we will definitely not want more Arias running around.]

Of course! I need to get a few more, too.

[...After all, it'd kind of be difficult to breed with just one Pokémon. And by 'difficult', I mean impossible.]

And I'd rather try it out on my own Pokémon first, just in case I, um, do something wrong.
